Our Story

Founded as a nonprofit organization in 2009, the Edinburg Dance Theatre (EDT) is the performance company of Dancentre of Edinburg, a dance school based in Edinburg, Texas. Locally, EDT produces its annual Nutcracker, Peter and the Wolf, and a spring performance that features a Young Choreographer's Workshop. Nationally (and internationally) EDT features Ballet Nepantla, a concert dance company based out of New York City and led by artistic director and award-winning choreographer Andrea Guajardo.
